Can I Stay With My Dog Whilst It’s Being Groomed?
Every dog is different. Some feel safer with their owner nearby, while others relax more easily with one-to-one time in the salon.

One of the questions I’m asked regularly is, “Can I stay with my dog during their groom?”
The simple answer is yes, absolutely.
Every dog is different, and I understand that some dogs feel more comfortable when their owner is nearby. This can be for many reasons, including separation anxiety, behavioural concerns, previous negative experiences, medical needs, or simply because being close to their favourite person helps them feel safe and secure.
Whatever the reason, I’m always happy to accommodate owners who wish to stay. My priority is your dog’s comfort, welfare, and overall grooming experience.
That said, some dogs actually settle and behave better when their owner isn’t present. It’s very common for dogs to be more relaxed, cooperative, and focused when they aren’t looking to their owner for reassurance or attention. In some cases, owners can unintentionally become a distraction, making it harder for the dog to relax during the grooming process.
There is no right or wrong approach. Some dogs thrive with their owner by their side, while others are more confident and settled when they have one-to-one time with their groomer.
My grooming environment is designed to be calm, patient, and tailored to the individual needs of every dog. Whether you choose to stay or leave your dog in my care, I will always work at a pace that keeps them comfortable and stress-free.
If you’re unsure what would work best for your dog, please don’t hesitate to get in touch before your appointment. We can discuss your dog’s personality, any concerns you may have, and find the approach that will give them the most positive grooming experience possible.
Whatever your dog’s needs, I’m always happy to help.
